The Def Jam crew have already entered and succeeded in the video game market, so it’s only natural that they push to dominate the exciting world of mobile. Def Jam Recordings have just made a deal to embed content from their multiple artists on a Walkman-branded Sony-Ericsson phone. The hot white-and-gold Sony W910i (UK only) will feature video and audio content from such artists as Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Nas and many others! British mega-retailer Carphone Warehouse has locked in the exclusive distribution deal (of course).
Def Jam have previously inked a deal with Flycell for a mobile subscription service that gives users access to a massive selection of Def Jam tracks. They are also partnering with mSpot to set up a mobile Def Jam streaming radio feed that will go live in spring, in conjunction with a mobile Def Jam website!
